4mm Secure Barbed Joiner / Offtake Connector

This secure barbed connector is designed for connecting 4mm micro irrigation tube or creating direct offtakes from 13mm LDPE irrigation supply pipe using a suitable hole punch. Unlike standard 4mm straight joiners, this fitting has an oversized barbed profile which provides a particularly tight connection inside compatible micro irrigation tube. Manufactured from UV-stabilised engineering plastic and supplied by Grow Insane, the fitting is suitable for long-term outdoor use in gardens, greenhouses, raised beds and landscaping irrigation systems.

• Suitable for joining compatible 4mm micro irrigation tube.
• Can also be inserted directly into punched 13mm LDPE irrigation pipe to create an offtake.
• Oversized barbed profile provides excellent pipe retention.
• Approximately 5–6mm across the barbed section.

• Repairing damaged sections of compatible micro irrigation tubing.

• Suitable for many standard 4mm internal diameter (approximately 6mm outside diameter) micro irrigation tubes.
• Compatible with Grow Insane, Antelco and many Hozelock-compatible irrigation systems.
• Not suitable for Rain Bird or Gardena micro irrigation tube.
• The oversized barb provides a tighter fit than many standard 4mm straight joiners and may require additional insertion force.

1. Cut the micro irrigation tube cleanly using pipe cutters or a sharp knife.
2. If using as an offtake, create a hole in the 13mm LDPE supply pipe using a suitable irrigation hole punch.
3. Push the connector fully into the tubing or supply pipe until securely seated.
4. Warming the pipe in hot water or direct sunlight will soften the material and make installation easier.
